- The Tirith - then known as Minas Tirith - was formed by Loughborough Grammar School pupils Tim Cox on guitar and Dick Cory on bass and vocals, alongside Paul Williams on drums. The prog rock group - whose original songs were all based on the Lord of the Rings trilogy - grew a cult following during their heyday from 1970-73, before the group went its separate ways. In 2011, after making contact over the internet, the group started rehearsing again
