- There is more than one artist with this name, including: 1) The A's was an American power-pop/rock bandformed in Philadelphia in 1978; 2) The A's is an American acoustic folk duo formed in North Carolina in 2013 by Amelia Meath and Alexandra Sauser-Monnig. 1) The A's was a Philadelphia power-pop / new wave band that almost made it. After taking the local scene by storm in the late 70s, the A's quickly signed to Arista and released their eponymous debut LP.
