- Biography
- Baton Rouge, La., late 1970's. A group of wingnut hippies from Baton Rouge get an earfull of the Ramones, and decide to start their own band. Thus, the Shitdogs were born. The bass player, Wheelie Bloodtongue (Bill Mallory) worked at a record store called Leisure Landing, next door to the Bayou (The bar that would become their most played venue.), and I remember while buying an Amboy Dukes LP seeing a poster for the Ramones for the first time. They would later be my introduction to punk rock, specifically "Rocket to Russia" in 1978.
