- Los Saicos were a band, formed in 1964 in Lima, Perú. Los Saicos was the first punk garage rock band, although they were at the time described themselves as a rock & roll band. Bands that would appear years later in U.K. and U.S.A. with a very similar sound never admitted to have been influenced by the peruvians. The Saicos themselves cited The Beatles and The Ventures as their main rock influences. They released six singles (but no LP) between 1965 and 1966, all songs being originals by Flores/Carpio.
