- Happy the Man was an American prog rock band founded in 1972 in Harrisonburg, Virginia and disbanded in 2005. The band claims to be influenced by Genesis, Yes, and Gentle Giant, Soft Machine and Hatfield and the North. Experimental, hard driving Jazz/Rock Fusion or Progressive are both interchangeable adjectives when referring to Happy The Man.
