- Lewd was an US West coast punk band active throughout 1978-1982, the Lewd originated in Seattle in the late 1970's, then migrated south to San Francisco where they gained critical acclaim. Other than singer J. Sats Baret, who remained a constant, the group underwent numerous personnel changes both in Seattle and in San Francisco, too many to outline here in any great detail.
